Each department or administrative function has a role to play in a student’s success, but they often operate with very little coordination.

How the Process Works

We start the SLE process by bringing together a cross-section of stakeholders from each administrative department to create a current-state “student lifecycle” process map. This map reveals areas in the student’s lifecycle where the handoff between departments is incongruent.

The problem is usually the result of a breakdown in:

  • Processes
  • Data flows
  • Visibility into the services that have been provided to a student
  • Awareness of the student’s barriers to success
  • “Business intelligence” to trigger actions proactively across departments based on data and actionable analytics

Once the breakdowns are identified, we work across administrative departments to develop a unified SLE model, supported by customer relationship management (CRM) technology to improve delivery of proactive student services.
